Millions

Added to my list of to-dos “remember to show Tara the movie ‘Gandhi’ when she grows up”. Saw it for the millionth time on TV last night and it still gave me goose bumps. I remember first watching in on a class outing to the movies, I must have been in Class 4 – so 9 years old and I loved it! Since then watched it nearly every year when it was aired on National TV on Republic Day and Independence Day. Last night watched it with a more critical eye – trying to understand what takes a million to walk up to Tahrir Square and overthrow a 30 years old corrupt regime and similarly what took a single man like Gandhi to rally millions in India all hell bent to get a 200 year old establishment out of the country and set up a our very own governance mechanism. With the Prime Minister ready to break his silence on the recent scams and face the nation tomorrow at 11am...it’s time for the billions to mobilise themselves for change.
